40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:

  • Prayer and fasting
  • Constant vigil
  • Community outreach

40 Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.

40 Days of Prayer

Individuals, groups, and congregations are uniting together to fervently pray for an end to abortion and to lift up all those affected by the injustice. Each day, believers are asked to pray for a focused prayer request so that the entire Body of Christ comes together around a common theme.

40 Days of Fasting

As Christians are fasting with a broken, repentant, and contrite spirit, God is saving many lives, healing wounded hearts, restoring our churches, community, nation, and the world. Throughout scripture God calls His faithful to fast with a contrite spirit. Fasting is a small sacrifice we can make for all those who have been lost to abortion. Christians are encouraged to fast during the 40 days on any level they feel comfortable that can range anywhere from giving up a favorite desert to living off bread and water for the entire period.

40 Days of Vigil

Faithful believers are holding a 24-hour-a-day prayer vigil outside of the abortion facility at 700 E. Hebron. Each individual, family, organization, or congregation will have their own one to two hour time slot to stand and pray peacefully at the vigil site.

New for the Spring vigil: Groups/organizations/congregations (G/O/C) are being asked to each take a day to stand and pray at the facility. For that particular day, the G/O/C will commit to being at the site for a minimum of one hour, up to 24 hours, midnight to midnight (click here for list of participants). Please note that anyone else is welcome to be at the site to stand and pray on any given day. All participating in the 40 Day Prayer Vigil for Life will be asked to sign a "statement of peace" promising to maintain a peaceful prayerful non-confrontational presence as they walk the sidewalk.
